Regarding the approval of the Rules for the use of the transit system on the territory of Moldova, the Official Gazette announces that several customs posts (Chisinau 3 (Petricani), Sculeni, Otaci – Moghilov – Podolsk, Cahul) in the country will apply the T1 transit procedure according to the Customs Service Order, without using the paper holder. The preparation of the paper version of the statement is accompanied by additional expenses for drawing up, filing, keeping a considerable volume of statements.
From 1 October, the T1 declaration will be applied to all customs posts. The T1 procedure applies to all goods which are in transit and are transported by road and rail transport, except for goods accompanied by a TIR carnet. These are not attributed to the transit of goods transported by individuals.
There are about 150 thousand transit operations per year in Moldova on the basis of the T1 operation. Application of the electronic version will allow for a reduction in the costs of brokerage services and will reduce transit times.
It will also be offered the possibility of online monitoring of transit through Moldova, and customs officers will detect violations in this area more quickly.
