At the Hannover Salon, the International Truck of the Year 2017 was designated as the new Scania truck! Accumulating 149 points from a jury of 25 journalists representing truck magazines, the new generation of Scania trucks has outperformed competitors such as the Iveco Stralis XP-NP and the Mercedes-Benz Actros with the new generation of OM 471 propellers.
Journalists have appreciated the aerodynamic design, the prompt changes to the Opticruise automatic transmission and the performance of the new 13-liter 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine that develops 500 hp and offers increased efficiency in all driving modes.
Being able to run on vegetable oil, all the new Scania truck’s engines, complying with the Euro 6 environmental standards, can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90%!
The jury also appreciated the fleet management service, based on the experience of over 2,000 trucks connected across Europe.
